i have a 2003 Jetta TDI that needs some assistance. It's showing a P1247 error code: which comes with a flashing glow plug light + engine service light + severely diminished acceleration. I had my car in storage (outside in Tucson, AZ) for 5 months and upon starting it again, this issue has appeared. i also noticed a small nest between the hood and hood insulation, so perhaps something furry ate some wiring, hence the issue.
"For a VW TDI, P1247 typically means the Needle Lift Sensor (G80) on Injector #3 has an electrical fault (open or short to power), often causing weak acceleration, low boost, or limp mode, and usually requires checking the wiring, connector, or replacing the injector itself as the sensor is integrated. However, other potential causes can include wiring issues near the ECU, bad grounds, or sometimes even a clogged air filter or boost leak, making a thorough check of connections and components vital. "
I'm looking for a mechanic who could resolve this at a fair and reasonable price.
