Rocks became a passion for me after losing my partner to suicide right after my first child was born. It gave me peace and allowed me to heal in many ways during that hard time. As a result it sort of became an obsession for me and the kids over the years. Now we cant go anywhere without finding something and we use any chance to teach our homeschool kids about geology in the process.
Id love to take our passion one step further and do something with them like make jewelry but im starting with nothing but some rocks and a dream!
Ive been looking for anything i can find in my area but i cant afford half my rent or more to buy them. They are worth it and i understand that. we just live paycheck to paycheck and cant afford it. Its been tight enough we really havent even been able to do anything fun or go rockhounding in the last couple years hence why id like to try to change that.
I know rock equipment isnt cheap and im not expecting much at all from this ad but maybe someones getting out of the hobby or the wife wants the garage back. Maybe its a home made thing that osha would cry over or maybe you just want to see that old tumbler or equipment get some use again. Heck id even be open to machines that need work (depending on need of course) im not picky!
We could even trade jewelry ive made or something.
I cant be picky and i know that. Im just hoping for a hand getting started and am trusting that the right person will see this. It trully would mean the world to us.
