Every person living in a care facility has rights, such as the right to be treated with dignity and respect, the right to make choices about their daily lives, and the right to voice concerns without fear of retaliation. These rights exist on paper. Volunteer advocates make sure they are respected in practice.
Lane County needs more volunteer advocates. LTCO will be hosting an in-person volunteer training class this April in Springfield. Training will take place on the 7th, 8th, 9th, 22nd, and 23rd. If you’d like to join this class, visit our website and apply by March 24th. If you can’t make it to this training, year-round virtual classes are available.
If you’ve ever wondered how to make a direct, life-changing difference in your community, this is your chance. You don’t need to be a lawyer, a doctor, or an expert in long-term care. You just need compassion, persistence, and the willingness to speak up for those who can’t. When you do, lives change.
