Urban Lumber Company, a Northwest based furniture manufacturer who specializes in handmade, live edged slabs, tables and custom furniture, is hiring talented and experienced Woodworkers. Join our small crew of saw slinging,
dust covered, butt kickers as we continue to build one of a kind furniture projects using locally salvaged trees since 2006.
Located in Springfield, Oregon, Urban Lumber has quickly become a national leader in large, live edged slab furniture. Known for our sustainable practices, the majority of our wood comes from salvaged city trees. Our projects reach across all aspects of the custom furniture industry including residential, designer and commercial projects.
Job Purpose
This position will work closely with owner, project manager, and shop foreman.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Woodworker position include:
- Professional training or several years of woodworking experience preferred.
-Strong analytical ability - read and understand detailed shop drawings
- Ability to nourish your soul with a hard day's work and a job well done.
- Must be willing to take direction and apply skills and experience to our manufacturing process.
-Strong mathematical ability
-Ability to operate tablesaw, bandsaw, belt sander and other shop machinery
-Ability to handle large slabs - Must be able to lift 50lbs or more
