This Shopsmith Model 5990 planer, with a 3-blade cutter-head speed of 5,750 RPM allows you to adjust material feed rates from 72-205 cuts-per-inch for highest quality of finish. With a 4X12 inch input throat capacity, you can use it for plane-ing most commonly found lumber sizes....it is rated to work on materials from 3/32” to 4” thick. .Weighing 150 pounds on it's motorized stand, it is sturdy and stable. I've added a couple of lawn-mower wheels to make it easier to move and maneuver into position. It's feed and output tables total 28 inches to allow working on shorter pieces without additional support. No need for special electrical service, both cutter-head and input drive motors operate on 110 volt 15 amp household current. Rubber in-feed and out-feed rollers insure constant/steady travel past the cutter-head.
An extra set of brand-new replacement knives and the Owners Manual are included.
It is clean, rust free...I've done no detailing other than blowing accumulated sawdust off.
If you've got a rough board you'd like to test on it, bring it along. If not, I've got some rough fence boards we can run through it.
