a very nice piece of Americana Tool History from the “Evansville Tool Works” carpenter’s hatchet.
Good logo on blade states: “Evansville Tool Works” “ Evansville, IND. USA
Estimated to be 85 to 100 years old or older
Head is approximately 3.75” deep x 6.5” wide x 15.5” long
Blade on one end with nail puller, and hammer head on opposite end, hammer poll
Founded: The Evansville Tool Works was established around 1900.
Closure: The company ceased operations in the 1940s. And became the “American Fork and Hoe Company”
