We are a couple currently living in Portland, looking to move out of the city… or perhaps into a home that doesn’t feel like it is in the city! We have a strong desire to begin transitioning out of our busy urban lives and spend more time traveling, exploring, and creating.
Our move date is flexible (ideally looking for January 2020)--we would rather wait for the perfect place than rush into something--and we would be happy to sign a lease for the right fit. We don’t have any pets, but we would love to be friends with yours! One exception: as much as we love all critters, allergies won’t let us cohabitate with indoor kitties.
We are currently renovating the living quarters of an operable 22’ RV that we plan to eventually live in full time, so we will need space at our home to park and work on it. We keep the project very tidy, so it won’t at all be an eyesore. We would like to be full tenants of a house, while we gradually increase the portion of our living time (sleeping, showering, cooking, etc) that we spend in the RV. We don’t need standard RV hookups at home, as we are building it to be off-grid capable.
We are both in our thirties. We are peaceful, reliable, queer, empathic, alcohol-free, and mostly vegan. We are both staunchly antiracist and feminist, and these values guide our day-to-day and broader life decisions. We both love to dance, practicar español, camp, laugh, dig in the dirt, read books, play with dogs, and climb trees.
R (she) has worked in politics for eight years, K (he) has worked as a massage therapist for eleven years, and we are both ready to transition out of these careers. R is beginning to take herself seriously as a writer, is an avid reader, and spends some of her time on production teams that advance unique performance artistry. K is an artist specializing in interactive laser-cut art installations and is currently exploring new creative avenues, with an emphasis on sustainability and natural materials.
Our ideal spot would also have a garage or small shop (or similar structure) where K can work on projects using his large format laser cutter and woodworking tools. If you don't have an existing workshop but would be interested in letting us build one or remodel/improve a structure on your property, that could work as well. If your property can't accommodate a workshop K is open to finding a studio space nearby.
If we sound like a pair that you’d like to rent to, we’d love to hear from you and arrange a time to meet you and see your space! Please feel welcome to ask us any questions in the meantime. We are open books.
At any rate, thanks so much for your time spent reading our ad! We hope you are enjoying today.
