Hello, I am looking for a temporary room in Eugene. I'm moving on an emergency basis from a household with an abusive landlord, which is why I'm looking for a sublet. The landlord has been fixated on me and frequently harasses and threatens me, and has threatened his son with violence, so this man is NOT a reference. I can show you my payments to him (always a week early) on PayPal, and photos of my room and bathroom on move-out, to show that I have been paying him and kept my space clean. I have been an excellent tenant; the man is just an abuser, who also abuses his son and girlfriend.
I am looking to move immediately for this reason. I want something short-term, because it's possible I'll leave Eugene. A bit about me:
My name is Carmen, and I'm 42 years old. I have a disability, and have been sick for a long time. I recently got a diagnosis, and my illness is being treated, so I'm looking for work. This is also why I'm looking for a sublet; I may end up getting a job elsewhere in the state and moving. I'm a teacher, so I imagine I will find something; I simply haven't been working due to illness. I *just* began recovering, and am *just* now looking for a job. Needless to say, I would not be moving now if it weren't for my landlord, whom I will be reporting for his behavior after I move. (He shouldn't be renting to anyone, and this way no other renter will have to flee his home on an emergency basis because she fears for her safety).
I'm a writer, teacher, cyclist, and swimmer, left-leaning, but I don't care about politics if others are live and let live. Again, I may stay in Eugene if I take a remote teaching job, but I may also move elsewhere if I get a job in another part of the state.
I'm clean, quiet, and have no pets and not much stuff (furniture or possessions). A furnished room would be ideal, but I could buy a bed for an unfurnished room if necessary. I do have a desk, and would likely set that up for remote teaching. A reliable internet hookup is a necessity. A private bathroom is preferred, but shared is okay. I believe in keeping clean in common areas, including the kitchen, in order to be considerate to others in the household.
