I’ve been researching my families ancestry on Ancestry dot com for about 3 years now and gotten all the way back to the late 1300s. I am NOT a professional researcher.
I can help you get started on your own family ancestry with my account ( you don’t have to join Ancestry.com).
Maybe you don’t have the time to dedicate to it or don’t know where to start. Your family chart can be kept private so others cannot view it, if you prefer. ( I keep mine public because I like to share what I’ve learned.)
That’s where I come in: You would just provide some basic info of yourself and names of known relatives, including birth dates and photos (photos are optional). This does NOT involve asking for an address, phone number, a SSN, or other personal identification. I work by myself and have nothing to do with selling information.
You also do not have to have done a DNA test, although it does help you connect with possible, unknown relatives.
*The only caveat to this is if the surnames involve Smiths, Joneses, Thomas’s, Jacksons, Millers, or other very common surnames— that would involve very deep research that might take years, and I’m not equipped to handle that.
Pricing is set at $25 an hour, and I would only do one hour of research a day. ( to accommodate my own family research and any other possible clients.)I’d then present to you what I find(a lot can be found in one hour, ordinarily). You could then decide if you want to go further.
