This is Moose, a 1 year old chocolate lab with enough energy to power a paper mill. His first owner (a friend of mine) got him as a puppy, but as he got older it was apparent that he was not a good fit. We took him in thinking we’d be able to provide a more stimulating environment and trying to keep him out of a shelter, but unfortunately it’s still not enough.
He is so incredibly sweet and good with kids, my small toddlers and baby. He is EXTREMELY high energy - if there are other dogs in the home, he will need a job (shed hunting, mushroom picking, etc. Just something to stimulate his crazy brain) but I believe if he was the only dog, simple trick training and daily exercise would be enough. I love this dog, as does my son, who nicknamed him Moo Moo, but as a stay-at-home mom with 2 other dogs, 3 kids under 2, and my partner working out of state for the winter, I do not have the time that he requires. He deserves a much more stimulating environment and someone that knows how to and IS ABLE to provide it.
