Absolutely phenomenal sounding guitar in excellent condition. ALL SOLID WOOD! Built-in reverb and chorus effects. Plays smoothly up and down the fretboard. I am a professional guitarist and music teacher. Yamaha is a very underrated acoustic guitar company, and it is uncommon to find an all solid wood guitar of this high quality at this price point. A comparable model from the big names like Martin or Taylor would cost 2 to 3 times more.
The built in reverb and chorus are achieved through the TransAcoustic system, which uses a small internal actuator to turn the solid wood soundboard into a natural speaker. It is really fun to play and sounds amazing even without the onboard effects. Turn the effects on, and it is so inspiring that it is difficult to put it down. I've had people mystified by how good it sounds, with some saying it's the best sounding guitar they have ever heard!
No need to plug in to an amplifier (though you can and it sounds great plugged in)! Just take the guitar anywhere - outdoors, camping, etc.. and turn on the adjustable reverb with a simple click of a button to make it sound ethereal! You can make it sound like you're playing in a spacious concert hall, a canyon, or in spaces of various sizes and acoustical properties. Turn on the chorus to give it a beautiful, sparkling sound, reminiscent of a 12-string guitar! Or try both effects simultaneously, and control the level of each!
SOLID Engelmann Spruce top, treated with Yamaha's proprietary A.R.E. process to give it a rich, vintage sound. SOLID Rosewood back and sides give the sound warmth.
Excellent condition both functionally and cosmetically. There are 2 very tiny, shallow dings in the top, which unless the viewing angle and lighting are just right, I really have to strain my eyes to see them. You might not notice them at all unless you're specifically looking for them. This does not affect the sound at all. Other than that, it is in nearly perfect condition. Comes with original, high-quality, semi-hardshell case.
