Other Devices:
$100 - Restored and modified Bose 901 clone, vintage EQ unit suitable for instrument and line-level audio. This is a beautiful stereo unit with a rotary switch for the treble. There are two modifications: one being conversion to DC power, and the other being that the "aux" switch connects the L output to the R input for ~ cascaded mono mode ~ which boosts the filter's effect. This is a one-of-a-kind device, restored to have another two to three decades of use in it. Feel free to ask more specifics, this is an odd one...
$100 - RadioShack Answering Machine - Basic in/out modification, allowing for use as a lofi sampler. The jacks contain switches, and plugging in the headphone jacks (both mono) will disable the mic. The switch disables the onboard speaker. DO NOT plug this into a telephone wall outlet! This is a lofi samlpler- use the "memo" function to leave yourself messages(samples). There's no pitch/rate modifications, but there is a ton of memory and it delivers the expected lofi audio quality for those who have used answering machines.
$120 - AT&T Answering Machine, Circuit-Bent - This is another answering machine/sampler device! Featuring 19 minutes of memory (more or less if you under/over-clock it), a fair amount of pre-recorded speech (for the time/date), and this unit is fixed to a metal enclosure which it sits on. This answering machine sampler has the usual circuit-bend, a master clock rate control. This affects the sampling rate, pitch, and quality. There is also an LFO that affects the master clock rate, for continuous modulation. The inputs and outputs are both controlled by switches and have input/output level control knobs. This unit looks crusty- and it is- but the sounds it makes are super hot fire and I even bought another one...
$180 - Synth-O-Phone 5, Blue DTMF Version - WE HAVE ANOTHER SYNTH-O-PHONE! This beautiful blue telephone has been converted into a mic+synthesizer unit, with an added power adapter for 9v batteries or DC power. The handset has a volume knob for the handset speaker, and there is a carbon-button microphone cartridge in there- the good stuff! In that mindset, I designed the preamp around a NOS metal-can transistor for the full vintage experience lol. The keypad is now a synthesizer, and it outputs DTMF tones, which are two dissonant sine waves of very specific frequencies. They retain their original frequencies since I left the crystal in there, so it produces the actual keypad tones. There is an LPF for the synth, knob on the right side. There is a Mic/Synth mixer on the back, and an output jack (1/4") on the left side. Handset connects to the left side, and the power adapter connects in the back- don't mix them up!
FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS! I am trying to move these, so please feel free to make offers, trade offers, bundles, etc...
