This system is perfect for medium-sized indoor spaces (200-400 person capacity), and works especially well in boxy rooms where normal point-source systems have difficulties. It is designed for portability, but would also work well permanently installed in a venue. It is ideally suited to acoustic music in an environment where perceived loudness is a detriment to audience experience. That is not to say that it can't get quite loud, but the nature of the line array design and small coaxial monitor wedges permits a much more even distribution of volume across the stage and the audience space, reducing the need for high volumes at the front of the stage sometimes required to reach the back of the room.
The front of house speakers consist of a pair of custom-built folding seven-foot-tall line arrays (each with 24 3.5" drivers), mounted on ported cabinets housing one 10" woofer each, tuned to respond down to 40Hz. The line arrays handle anything from around 100 or 120Hz and up, depending on how you choose to set it up. These speakers must be bi-amped with an active crossover (included, see below).
Monitor wedges are 8" coaxial speakers from Radian, model RPX-108P. These have built-in passive crossovers.
All speakers have Speakon connections and an array of cables are included. A single 4-conductor cable runs to each front of house low frequency cabinet, which then feeds the towers with a secondary 2-conductor cable.
The speaker system is powered by an amp rack consisting of six amplifier channels (two for the woofers, two for the line arrays, and two monitor channels), a system processor which handles front of house crossover and speaker tuning, and a two channel graphic EQ for the monitors.
To be specific, the amp rack consists of:
Road Runner 8 space rack
Rane ME-60 graphic EQ
DBX DriveRack Venu360 (system processor)
Tripp-lite isobar power conditioner
QSC CX404 (four channel amplifier)
QSC CX702 (two channel amplifier)
Rack panel with connectors and interconnect cables
A matching mixer rack sits atop the amp rack, containing a 16 channel analog mixer, stereo graphic EQ, digital multi-effects unit and eight channel compressor/gate unit. The mixer is mounted on tilt-adjustable rails, and the back of the rack has a custom panel that allows for efficient connection to the amp rack. Connecting cables are included. There is an incredible amount of functionality packed into this rack.
To be specific, the mixer rack consists of:
Road Ready mixer rack customized with tilting mixer rails and with 4 rack spaces below
Soundcraft GB2R 16 channel mixer (one of the finest rackable analog mixers)
Rane Mojo MQ 302S Graphic EQ (each slider effects both left and right channels)
TC M-One XL two channel digital reverb and delay
PreSonus ACP88 eight channel compressor and gate
That's all of the equipment included (no microphones or stands, etc.). This is a fantastic system for the right person. All of the components were carefully chosen to make it a cohesive whole, and it packs down in a way that makes it relatively easy to travel with (i.e., you don't need a cargo trailer and a team of roadies to handle it). The sound is smooth and clear, and the equipment takes up relatively little room on stage. I built it for my own six-piece band and used it locally and around the northwest for the past decade or so. It has always been reliable and well received by audiences.
At this time I am not interested in selling individual components, because I really think this system is a cohesive whole, and I want to give someone else the chance to consider it as a complete solution for their needs, before I break it up. However, I would consider selling only the mixer rack (complete, with all included components), and keeping the amp rack and speaker system for myself.
Pricing:
Entire system - $5,000
Just the mixer rack - $1300
