Tumac, Inc. (CNC machine shop, located in Lowell, OR) is hiring experienced CNC Machininsts. We are hiring either CNC Lathe and/or CNC Mill machinists with experience in both setup and operation. Experience with Mazak and Mazak controls (M32, T32, Fusion, Matrix, Smooth G).

Daily Duties:
• Plans machining by studying work orders, prints, drawings, specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Set up and operate CNC machine to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed data.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning and facing; taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools.
• Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks on machines as required and troubleshoots machine malfunctions.
• Confers with others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Uses ERP software to accurately communicate and document manufacturing process.

Required:

• Excellent measuring skills, ability to read prints and make adjustments.
• Strong math skills and grasp of mathematical concepts such as plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to work independently with a quality conscious mindset
• Must be able to work standing for 8-10 hours a day and be willing to work occasional overtime.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly and move heavier items with assistance.
• Ability to safely operate a hoist.
• Forklift operating experience.

Education:
• Associate's Degree from two-year college or technical school; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
