We will have one full-time OR part-time spot opening on Sept. 16th. We are offering tours to enroll now!
We are a state-certified preschool child care program, with a toddler and pre-k curriculum of both indoor and outdoor learning and play activities. We have a wonderful daily schedule that supports physical activity, healthy eating, developing friendships, empathy, and good manners, learning to read and write, learning basic Spanish, understanding beginning math and patterns, gardening and composting, monthly themes and projects, sensory play via music, art, puzzles, engineering toys, homemade play-doh, stringing beads, playing with ink stamps, and doing projects, yoga, and more!
Our groups are kept small for the best well-being of the children and our assistant teachers. We often split up into two groups for a calmer, happier, and more attentive environment. We have a block station with different types of blocks, our library reading and relaxing area, a train table and cars corner, and large dramatic play area that features a grocery store and grocery carts, a kitchen play area, babies with strollers and cribs, and costumes.
We have two large play rooms: one in which we also eat and do art, and the other in which napping children sleep in the afternoon. We also have an indoor garage playspace -for days that are too rainy, even with rain suits and rain boots- with trampoline, rocking horse, and tunnel tent. Additionally, we have a large, fenced yard in which we play daily, practice basic gardening, and have many fun toys: big cars for riding in, trikes and helmets, balls with basketball hoop and soccer net, a large playhouse, and more.
Our meals are mostly organic, wholesome, now gluten-free for our families who need that, and based on the USDA Food Program.
I (owner and lead teacher, Lindsay) have my degree with an extra year of focus on childhood education and child development, a two year diploma in medicinal herbalism and holistic health -and I’ve aced multiple nutrition courses, over the years (I care about our kiddos getting to be as healthy as possible), and I have been doing this and loving it for almost 20 years!
Please see my website for more information on us at www.happystepschildcare.weebly.com. You can check out our menu, learn more about me and my two assistant teachers, view our hours and tuition rates, read about our discipline philosophies, and more.
We’re also on Facebook, where you can check out our pictures and videos, the artwork and fun time of the children, and more at https://www.facebook.com/HappyStepsEarlyLearningChildCareEugeneOR/.
Please get in touch with us if you have any questions or would like to come by for a tour! We do have a waiting list available when our spots are full.
Long-term inquiries only, please. Our group is like an extended family, and we want to avoid the stress of new faces coming and going often. Most of our kiddos are with us until kindergarten. Thanks!
