This clean, little music box belonged to my wife and has been in a drawer since the early 2000s. According to her, it was a kit, assembled by her ex as a gift and has been kept clean and polished all this time. She quit using it when the little metal trigger pin became dislodged, allowing the music to continue running even after the lid was down. The pin was attached to the thin wire on the music mechanism, stopping the music when the lid pressed the pin down. Image 8 shows this relationship.
• The music played is Edelweiss.
• 9-5/8" x 6-1/16" x 3-1/2" overall closed dimension
• Weight is 2 lb., 2.8 oz.
• It can be disassembled for cleaning or, in this case, repair. See the last image. The trigger wire needs to go into the small hole in the pin, after the pin is inserted into its hole in the wood, tricky but possible - I've done it.
