Meet Effrontee also known as Mars Bar, a Jockey club registered TB who was never raced or broke to ride prior to when we purchased her in 2023. She’s a 5 year old chestnut mare, approximately 15’3-16 hands and full of opinions.
Mars is a well broke horse but not finished a specific way, you could take her any direction you would like. She’s more go than woah, forward but not a gamer. She was my daughter’s OHSET horse last year, and was used for all of her events including trail, in hand, cow sorting, working pairs and western horsemanship. She’s been on trail rides, started over jumps and has been exposed to flags in grand entry but hasn’t carried one herself. I see her excelling in English as she is a gorgeous mover with a nice natural headset.
PROS:
Young and full of potential
Has had lots of exposure
Very nice mover
Has had many different riders on her
No buck no rear, most she’s ever done is a small kick out when in need of body work
Good solid feet, farrier has no concerns about future of needing shoes
Not difficult to find proper saddle fit
Trailers well
CONS:
NOT for a beginner or child, preferably an experienced high school or older — Rides well with kids on her but is not being sold as a kids’ horse
Has had issues tying but is working through them
Cinchy (On gutX to help manage it)
Doesn’t do well with sitting, she’s much better with consistent work
Can be mareish under saddle(pins ears and doesn’t like horses in her space bubble) but is low on the totem pole in a field.
Up to date on vaccines, teeth floating, and last farrier visit 11/25, welcome to test rides and coming to see her!
Open to PPE at buyer’s expense.
