Hi,
I currently have 4 hens and a drake looking for a new home. The crows are eating the eggs in my one coop and the chickens are eating the eggs from the other coop...
I have 2 Ancona (1 male & 1 female), 2 Ancona/wild Mallard cross hens and one Blue Swiss hen.
The Blue Swiss hasn't been living with the other hens. Earlier this year, I put a Cayuga hens with the 3 hens and drake. They killed the Cayuga within 4 days of them being together... When I watched them together I didn't see much aggression. It just looked like they were establishing a pecking order. I only saw the drake going for the hen and it had been a while since the hen was serviced...
The Ancona/Wild Mallard crosses are very good layers. I was a little worried they wouldn't lay well because wild mallards are not known for their egg production.
$35 per hen and $25 for the drake. $100 for the 4 Anconas and crosses together. $35 for the Blue Swiss hen.
Thanks for looking.
