The City of Springfield is seeking a Land Surveyor I to provide professional land surveyor services ensuring City compliance with applicable survey related state statutes. This position makes recommendations relating to survey procedures, methods, evidence evaluation, and legal interpretation consistent with policy, laws, and standards. The Land Surveyor I will affix professional seal and signature to plats and other documents requiring preparation by a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor.
Training, Experience, and Licensing:
The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. Such ways to meet minimums includes:
•Bachelor’s degree in geomatics, surveying, civil engineer, ABET accredited engineering, or related education field, or equivalent experience based on OAR 820-010-2020 , and;
•Three (3) years’ experience working in surveying or geomatics.
•Registration as Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the State of Oregon (or registered PLS in a reciprocal state with ability to obtain Oregon registration within 12 months), and;
•A valid Oregon Driver’s license by time of appointment (or within time frame outlined by state statue if moving from out of state), and ability to maintain acceptable driving record throughout employment
Preference may be provided for:
•Certified Water Right Examiner (CWRE)
•Certified Drone Pilot- Federal Aviation Administration
•Certified Floodplain Manager- Association of State Floodplain Managers
•Senior Right of Way Agent (SR/WA)- International Right of Way Association
