Voile aluminum shovels are the industry standard for backcountry enthusiasts, ski patrollers, and rescue workers, prized for their rugged aluminum scoops. They balance immense durability—often rivaling steel—with lightweight designs tailored for snow safety and avalanche rescue. I priced a new Voile shovel at $95 and it appears that the handles are not made as long as the model I'm selling when set to its full extension.

I bought this shovel new for carrying with me while flying ski planes in Alaska. When flying a plane similar to backpacking, you need good equipment that is lightweight and not too bulky. This shovel has been used, but not a lot. The only wear is on the bottom backside of the shovel as shown in the photo.
