I bought this new in July 1979 and that was the first time I saw a 12 speed bike. The original receipt is pictured, but it's a bit faded. It has a 22 inch frame. Over time, various components have been changed. The frame mounted Zefal air pump is gone. The tires, inner tubes, and rims have been upgraded. I installed an Ideale leather saddle. More recently, I bought a saddle cover. I added Power Grips on the pedals which increased my power and endurance. A handle bar extension was installed which makes the bike much more comfortable for me to ride long distances. Florence to Eugene is the longest non-stop ride I've ever done, along with some Eugene to Lebanon non-stop rides, lots of Eugene to Fern Ridge Reservoir & back, Eugene to Cheshire, out Jasper & back, out Dillard Road to Creswell ... I also used the bike to commute around the Eugene area for work, shopping, & running errands, so I eventually added fenders. Many years ago I took the tape off of the handle bars and added a comfortable foam padding. It lasted a very long time as it gradually dried-out and eventually started to tear. I removed most of it and taped foam pipe insulation on the bars as a temporary fix which works well.
I just had the wheels trued at Arriving by Bike and I replaced the brake pads. The gears shift well and the brakes are effective. I've been riding it regularly on a ten mile loop out in Cheshire.
The frame has some scratches & scuff marks.
The sale includes a Cannondale handle bar pouch, a rear wheel rack & milk crate, a cable with lock & 2 keys, two working lights, padded riding shorts, an extra seat which I've never used, a nice Joe Blow Pump, miscellaneous stuff along with some documentation.
The bike can be configured for commuting or ditch the fenders and the extra stuff and simply enjoy cruising.
