El Nopalito is looking for an experienced Tortilla Maker to join our kitchen team.
This position is primarily responsible for making fresh corn tortillas throughout the day.
When tortilla production slows down, you'll assist the kitchen with prep work.
This is NOT an entry-level position. Experience making fresh tortillas is required.
Responsibilities:
Produce fresh corn tortillas throughout the day
Operate a tortilla press and maintain consistent quality, thickness, and size
Monitor tortilla production to meet restaurant demand
Keep the tortilla station clean, organized, and stocked
Assist with kitchen prep during slower periods (vegetable prep, portioning, sauces, etc.)
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
Requirements:
Previous experience making fresh corn tortillas is REQUIRED
Experience operating a tortilla press is strongly preferred
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Schedule:
Full-time preferred
Weekend availability is required
Pay:
Depending on experience.
Our tortillas are made fresh every day and are one of the foundations of our restaurant. We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing a consistently high-quality product and is willing to help with kitchen prep when production slows.
