The Feed Room is a unique restaurant as it is nestled inside Oregon’s largest Equine facility, the Oregon Horse Center. With focus on serving the equine community great food during their stay with us for their events. We focus on serving delicious food, craft beverages, and providing outstanding service, to our visitors. Our menu showcases a combination of American classics, prepared with fresh, ingredients and an emphasis on culinary creativity.

Job Responsibilities:
As the Kitchen Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our bustling kitchen. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Leadership and Team Management: Leading a team of dedicated kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
2. Menu Development: Collaborating with the owner to create innovative and enticing menus, while ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.
3. Food Preparation and Cooking: Overseeing food preparation, ensuring all dishes are cooked to perfection, and maintaining exceptional food presentation.
4. Inventory Management: Managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, and monitoring costs to ensure efficient operations while minimizing waste.
5. Quality Control and Safety: Upholding high food safety and sanitation standards, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
6. Training and Development: Providing training, guidance, and support to kitchen staff, fostering their professional growth, and maintaining high performance standards.

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
1. Proven Experience: Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager or Cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
2. Culinary Expertise: Strong culinary skills with a passion for creating delicious dishes.
3. Leadership Abilities: Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
4. Organization and Time Management: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
5. Food Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
6. Flexibility and Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment, adapting quickly to changing circumstances.
This restaurant is not your normal restaurant that is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We cater to events hosted at the Oregon Horse Center which means kitchen hours and day open will vary. An ideal candidate will be willing to accept working hours outside of the kitchen. This may be lending a helping hand in the office or outside with our grounds crew. Being comfortable around horses and/or horse knowledge is a plus.
