This is a 1959 AKAI vacuum tube Terecorder Half Side Playback and Recorder. It was originally designed to accompany a matching AKAI reel to reel recorder and when attached by a single cord they became the first commercial stereo reel to reel. This unit has a quality 5 vacuum tube amplifier and internal speaker ready to be used. It has TS inputs for microphone and line in. It also has a TS output. I have tested it and it works great. Would be an ideal amplifier for harp or guitar. The cabinet is in excellent shape for being 63 years old.
