Today I am, reluctantly, offering for sale this professionally framed and matted water color Pelican by Van Gores. I self -authenticated it by (1) comparing the signature with several versions of her signature; she sometimes signs her paintings with “A Van Gores”, but more appear to be simply “Van Gores”. (2) I found another similar gray-scale pelican that was also signed “Van Gores”. Finally (3) The shack in the distance shows up in many ocean works done by Van Gores. I am relatively confident I am offering an original watercolor of a Pelican by Alida Van Gores.
