ALERT: I just want to put the word out there that a man named Harold Gardner is forging signatures of famous people and trying to sell them for a Venmo payment. His signatures and memorabilia are fake. He has been running this scam since the 1990's and currently contacting people all over the country including Colorado.
If he contacts you, you may want to contact his probation officer in Douglas County Oregon.
Just google "Harold Gardner Forged" and you will find several articles on him. The most recent was in 2020 - see registerguard, sportscollectorsdaily or latimes articles.
Harold Gardner is the relative of a famous author, Martin Gardner, but was left out of the will and continues trying to scam people to this day with his story and FAKE SIGNATURES. It is a believable story since he is actually related to that author and does have a lot of documents from the family, however, he is a scam artist and FORGES THESE SIGNATURES. He recently tried contacting some Colorado companies but they noticed the signatures were off so they started doing some research and found these articles online.
He is forging signatures of NY Yankees players, other MLB baseball players, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Casey Stengel, Albert Einstein, Walt Disney, and many others.
