You’re looking at a 1978 One Wheeler unicycle! These were hand made by mountain bike legend, and former editor of Mountain Bike Action magazine, Richard Cunningham or R.C. as he is known also. The decal has the name of his fab shop on it. “Lizard and Mike’s”. Lizard was Richard’s nickname when he was younger and Mike is his brother. Together, they made very high quality exhaust systems for motorcycles and other custom fab work….such as helping put V8 engines in Porsche 911 and 914 cars….and making very nice bicycles. Eventually Richard founded Mantis Bicycles and set the standard for all mountain bikes. There were very few of these One Wheelers made….probably 50 or less. Good luck getting one of the others to part with theirs! We used to ride them around Newport Beach on the boardwalk and around Balboa when we were kids. It is very rideable! There’s a learning curve, but it’s worth it! There’s nothing you can ride that will gather more positive attention than this. Come on over and give it a test crash if you’re serious!
