The New Zone Gallery Artists Collective cordially invites all art lovers to its monthly First Friday Art Reception - expect a most eclectic mix of art in a plethora of styles and media.

In addition to the new members show featuring over 100 pieces of work, there are three special exhibits on display:

Dean Jordan – “Art from Wood”
Dean, a Master Wood Turner, has been creating artistic and practical items on his lathe since age 11. Having studied with the late great wood turner, Frank Sudol, Dean has applied what he learned from Frank to expand his artistic expression. Most recently, Dean has been perfecting the art of hydro-dipping turned wood pieces. He has also been spinning metal and casting and embossing pewter rims, which he adds to his wooden vases and bowls. Working to create is a form of therapy for Dean and his contribution to the Multiverse.

Sarjé Haynes – “Excavating a New Future”
"Excavating a New Future" is a culmination of the series Sarjé has been working on since October, 2023. This series is inspired by the deep-rooted uprisings for liberation which transform our collective experience. Each piece tells a part of the story, as the collection reveals how our liberation is interconnected, inevitable, and aligned with the harmonic resonance of our New Future.

In the Klausmeier Room: Margaret Godfrey – “What Lies Within: An Artist’s Journey”
Using watercolor, acrylic, ink, and collage, Margaret Godfrey is a symbolic painter who has been described as a conceptual artist. Her paintings have an abundance of symbols, which help tell the underlying story of a series. By working in a series, she is able to explore and express different aspects of the pictorial metaphor. Her motifs flow through her body of work, connecting the layers and messages of a series. In viewing her paintings, look beyond the literal; search for the allegory. Her pictures incorporate both representational and abstract styles and often include both.
This show of Margaret’s work reflects twenty years of finding joy and purpose in painting from the heart.

The reception will be held on First Friday, June 7th, 5:30-7:30pm
Beverages from Hop Valley Brewing and wine from Sundance Wine Cellars.
Live music

The New Zone Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, 12-6pm.
