Alaskan artist Bruce Shingledecker’s work is very hard to find. Several years after he passed away, the gallery that exclusively sold his art in Alaska closed and eventually relocated to Sisters OR where the artist’s pieces continued to be sold for awhile. The gallery in Sisters closed for good close to 10 years ago and nobody seems to know where all the unsold pieces ended up so this is a rare find!
This limited edition print is #337/1000 of the painting “The Sky is Falling”which is the iconic image that gave the artist worldwide recognition when it was used by The National Wildlife Federation on one of their greeting cards. It was also the first of 21 of his artworks to be published as prints.
In excellent condition, nicely matted & framed with non-glare glass that has snowflakes etched on the glass giving the falling snow a 3D appearance, no visible scratches on the glass, though there are some light scratches and marks on the frame (see photos) these are easily overlooked due to the stunning beauty of the image!
Frames measure 22”x19.5”
