I am seeking a mushroom hunting partner! No prior mushroom knowledge required, though you must be willing to trek for a few miles at a time, off trail, sometimes on pretty rugged terrain and in gnarly weather conditions. If you have a vehicle and are willing to drive, that would be a HUGE plus, but we will get around regardless.
I have been foraging wild mushrooms for about 15 years now, and cultivating for about half that time. I have a degree in Botany and Plant Pathology from Oregon State University, where I primarily focused on fungal taxonomy and other mycology research.
I regularly hunt for golden, white, and yellow-foot/winter chanterelles, hedgehogs, chicken of the woods, fried chicken, bears head, cauliflower, king & queen boletes, lobsters, blewits, various oysters, reishi, morels, truffles, and many other types of edible & medicinal fungi. spend a day or two with me in the forest, and you will be able to reliably ID these edibles as well as toxic look-alikes and other commonly encountered fungi.
