On Tuesday, October 20, 4 bull elk were illegally shot & illegally retrieved on private land in Cottage Grove just south of Latham Road and west of London Road. You may have been driving on London Road between daylight & 10 a.m. and saw one or more people shooting elk, and/or walking or driving through pastures in the area.

If anyone witnessed the illegal elk poaching &/or retrieval during this time and you haven't already described what you saw to Oregon State Police's Fish & Wildlife Division, please contact them in Springfield, 726-2536.

A Lane County Circuit Court date of November 19 is set for the 5 poachers.
